Happening Now - Sat. April 1, 11am to 3pm! Join @wastefreegreenwich for the 2nd annual ReThink Waste Fair, an engaging, family friendly event to explore ways to rethink waste through the 6 R’s: Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Repair and Rot.

Activities include:

📚book exchange

Vendors will offer low waste products from reusable wares and vintage clothing to kitchen tools and beauty products to inspire a sustainable lifestyle, while local community partners will share practical tips and information through hands-on activities and exhibits.

At noon, First Selectman Fred Camillo and town officials will issue an Earth Day Proclamation, and the Greenwich Sustainability Committee will announce the recipients of its newly established Sustainability Award, which recognizes Greenwich residents who embody the principles of the committee.

Spring cleaning? The fair also features a recycling drive for batteries, makeup containers, plastic bags and film, textiles and other hard to recycle items. Safely recycle electronics, like computers, VCRs, cameras and televisions, for free with Take2 Recycling.

Earn cash back by redeeming cans and bottles with Eye Recycle. Drop off cell phones for Cell Phones for Soldiers and eyeglasses for the Lions Club. New and gently used school supplies will be collected for the Stamford Boys and Girls Club, and trial sized toiletries will be donated to New Covenant Center.

☘️ I love bagpipes… as well as the whole entire St. Patrick’s Day Parade IN Greenwich. It was a cold but fun 2023 parade this past Sunday!

Does anyone know where to get one of those Shriner jeeps? 100% asking for myself.

Little known fact, I was born the day before the Greenwich St. Patrick’s Day parade, some years ago and my Dad took a break from hanging with my mom and 1 day old me at Greenwich Hospital to go celebrate at the parade. 😂

Thanks to the Greenwich Hibernians for this event and congrats to 2023 Grand Marshall, Kevin McFadden.

☘️💇‍♂️ The 10th annual @stbaldricks event in the Greenwich Public Schools happened at Cos Cob School, thanks to organizer and Principal Kerry Gavin!

The community met their goal thanks to those who braved the shave, donated inches of hair, and donated money towards this amazing organization that raises awareness and funds for childhood cancer research.

It was a fun evening with live music by the Sound Cats, food donated by @gardencatering @corbos_southside @rinaldiscoscob and decorations from @partypaperandthings.

Teacher Mike Fina raised the most with over $7k for the shaving off his lovely mane!

🥞Like pancakes?! Don't miss the Saturday, March 11th Lions Club of Greenwich’s 60th Annual Pancake Breakfast, from 8am to 12pm. The event is at a new location, the Greenwich High School Student Center, back and better than ever after a 3 year hiatus.

🥞As always, the Pancake Breakfast will serve unlimited pancakes, sausages, syrup, orange juice, coffee, tea and milk.

🎉🎵🍪👁More than just pancakes there will be entertainment, a bake sale, door prizes, free eye screening for 2 to 6 year olds and face painting by @facesbywells, all for a great cause.

💚Funds raised at the Pancake Breakfast will support the many service projects that the Greenwich Lion’s Club lead to help people in the town of Greenwich and surrounding communities.

🎟Tickets are available in advance for $8/each at @perrotlibrary’s adult circulation desk and with any Greenwich Lions Club member or they are $10/each at the door; kids five years old and under are free. More info in the link in bio.

Shoveling as a unicorn, just a regular old day IN Greenwich for some of us.

After yesterday’s snow storm I had a decision to make. Do I go and take beautiful snowy scenic photos for this account or do I shovel in an inflatable unicorn costume? Hopefully I made the right choice.

Also, how perfect is this audio/music for shoveling?

Hope everyone survived the snow storm. If you have a sidewalk in-front of your house then please always shovel it.

If you can’t shovel for some reason {or shouldn’t shovel like my 80 year old uncle in this video who recently had a 2nd knee replacement and finished shoveling before I got to his house} than let me know, I may be able to find a scout, generous neighbor, high school kid or unicorn to help out.

“We’ll help with the dogs” my kids said. Lie

“We’ll help with the dogs” my kids said. Lies!

Fiona and Ruby, chiweenies {dachshund chihuahua mix} sisters from @adoptadoginc, joined our family almost 6 months ago and I’m still exhausted 😂

My kids haven’t helped half as much as they promised and Lily our 14 yo mini dachshund is only tolerating them, but these pups have provided more entertainment and love than I could have ever imagined.

As I’m sure many of the followers of this account @ingreenwichct noticed, I took a 1.5+ month break from posting here {I always need a break after the holidays and elf/mensch visits, IYKYK}. Part of the IG break was due to these pups shenanigans.

On MLK day they ate an entire rotisserie chicken… every… damn… bone. So it was a rough few days /weeks of sick little pups and praying they’d be ok to now feeling like they’re most likely indestructible.

Hopefully this post will open the flood gates to more @ingreenwichct posts and we’ll be back to business soon but in the meantime follow and support @adoptadoginc ❤️🐶

Also, these pups LOVE going to Tod’s Point! They live their best lives there. So thankful for the ability to bring them there through March 31st and for other responsible dog owners 😉

They’re still IN Greenwich! Vin and Lynn, the IN Greenwich elves, and Bin, the IN Greenwich mensch, are still local {after Christmas and Hannukah} as they have a few more stops before 2023.

💚Here they’re visiting @ntngreenwich’s new building!! Years in the waiting, this beautiful new location, The Cohen Center for N to N, has much needed space and light to continue to help our neighbors in need.

🍎🥫🫑The elves helped out in the new food pantry, saw the food prep area and spacious basement for lots of storage.

🧼🧴👚🧥They bumped into their friend, Executive Director Margaret Goldberg, and toured the new clothing & essentials room - the essentials are a new addition and the clothing room in general is a world of difference.

🧶The wonderful hats at the end of the video are knitted locally, donated and fly off the shelves at N to N. There are knitting groups (and those that donate beautiful yarn) from St. Catherine’s Church, Cos Cob Library and more that coordinate the hat making efforts.

Thanks @ntngreenwich for letting the elves and mensch visit as well as for all you do for our community.

She said yes to the elf wedding dress! This lucky elf, Lynn the IN Greenwich elf, met with Katie Fong at the @katiefongcollection location just off Greenwich Ave, for a custom dress fitting!

If you recall, Vin and Lynn got engaged last Christmas at Tod’s Point. While the wedding plans aren’t until 2023, they’re working on some details like having Katie design a beautiful wedding dress.

Ice cream time! Only the best for Vin, the IN Gree

Ice cream time! Only the best for Vin, the IN Greenwich Elf on the shelf + Bin, the IN Greenwich Mensch on a bench, as they visited @vanleeuwenicecream on Greenwich Ave.

They chose holiday flavors peppermint stick made with candy canes and a vegan gingerbread ice cream (both available through the end of the month). Also, they made sure to grab a brown sugar cookie dough chunk ice cream sandwich to-go, for Lynn, the IN Greenwich elf.

She was also by Greenwich Ave but separately working on her and Vin’s wedding details {more to come on that topic}.

Thank you @vanleeuwenicecream for having Vin and Bin, for opening a spot up in your hometown and for making such delicious ice cream with quality ingredients! Special thank you to Joseph who helped these two and is in the video.

Dumplings, and broth and Thai rice, oh my! The IN

Dumplings, and broth and Thai rice, oh my! The IN Greenwich elves, Vin and Lynn, finally made it to the Cos Cob @nitnoiprovisions.

They had heard through the grapevine last Christmas that Nit Noi was coming to town. Having enjoyed their food/broth from their Norwalk location, local farmers markets and at @mikesorganic, they have been planning their 2022 holiday visit ever since.

The elves loved seeing some of their favorite items, pan fried pork dumplings and Thai fried rice, prepared. Not photographed are the amazing broths and soups that they also enjoyed. They even met one of the owners, North!

Perhaps next year they’ll have time to attend a dumpling making class!

Thank you North and to staff member Pauline, who let the elves watch her in action, for having the elves for the most delicious holiday visit yet!

✨Talk about a magical event! The @greenwichhistory Holiday Festival was a highlight of Vin and Lynn, the IN Greenwich elves’, weekend!

🎄They immediately enjoyed the amazing tabletop trees on display while listening to carols sang by the 🎵Connecticut Yuletide Carolers @ctyuletidecarolers

☕️🍻🥪Once outside they were treated to hot chocolate and festive adult beverages as well as grilled cheese and tomato soup from @caseuscrispymelty

🎅Their next stop was the barn to say hi to their favorite guy, Santa, in a room decorated with amazing dollhouses by @whimsiesdollhouseshop

🍬In the craft area they watched others decorate gingerbread cookies and made their own yarn gnome.

❄️Professional ice sculptor Bill Bywater @bill_bywater created two beautiful ice designs next to where they snacked on 🍿 popcorn, s’mores and 🍪 cookies, oh my.

🕯The candlelight tours of the Bush Holley House didn’t make it into this video but it was a particularly special tour with an emphasis on holiday history there.

🛍️The elves finished up their visit by shopping at the @greenwichhistory gift shop!

At SPLURGE, the elves found more than a few favorite things for holiday and engagement gifts!

Vin and Lynn, the IN Greenwich elves, stopped to see friend and @splurge_ct owner Sonia to both shop for the holidays, shop for their upcoming nuptials AND to congratulate Sonia on 15 years of business (and giving back to our community).

It’s hard to cover all the fantastic options but to name a few that are in this video:

Son of a nutcracker! @greenwichdancestudio is the perfect stop for the IN Greenwich elves, Vin and Lynn, to get some holiday dancing in!

The elves suited up into their nutcracker costumes to enjoy a tour of the studio from owner Kate! Lynn spent some time at the barre showing off her own ballet skills. And the highlight was watching an awesome hip hop routine.
