Memorial Day weekend IN Greenwich will be busy in 2024. We hope everyone has a terrific weekend whether you're local or not.  And most of all, we remember and honor the sacrifices of the men and women who gave their lives for our country.

Here's info on what's happening locally for Memorial Day Weekend:

Saturday, May 25th:

At 10:30 AM at the Cos Cob Dock VFW Memorial on Strickland Road Cos Cob, CT the Cos Cob VFW Post 10112 will have a brief ceremony to honor our veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice and died for our country while serving in the US Armed Services.

Sunday, May 26th:

On Sunday, May 26th from 1 to 7pm, enjoy pizza, BBQ, live music, adult beverages, bounce house, face painting, balloon animals and more at the next Mason Street Block Party. Located at 275 Mason Street, organized by: Mason Street BBQ, Nantaco, Grigg Street Pizza & Classic Pour. More info here. 

The Byram Veterans Association will hold their Parade at 1PM on May 26th starting at the Byram Veteran’s Club.

The Glenville Volunteer Fire Department’s Memorial Day Parade starts at 5pm on Glenville Street and ends in front of the Glenville Firehouse for a ceremony and wreath laying.

Monday, May 27th:

On Greenwich Avenue join in the annual Jim Fixx Memorial Day Races, 5K & Kids Fun Run!  Coordinated by Greenwich Parks and Rec, this is one of the state’s oldest races, now in its 60th year.  Make sure to pre-register online, more info here.

The annual American Legion Post 29 memorial service will be held at 8am at the Indian Harbor Yacht Club at 710 Steamboat Road in downtown Greenwich. As part of the service, a memorial wreath will be placed in Long Island Sound.

The 2023 Memorial Day Celebration in Old Greenwich is on Sound Beach Avenue to Binney Park, starting at 10:00 am on May 27th.

The Byram Veterans Association will hold a Memorial Day Ceremony on Monday, May 27th at 10am at the Eugene Moriot Park on Sue Mertz Way.

Throughout the Weekend:

The Greenwich Pool at Byram Park + Beach opens for the Summer this weekend!  For more pool information, visit here.

Planning on going to a beach in town?!  Make sure you have your beach passes and/or guest passes and guest car passes to do so.  More info here from the Greenwich Parks and Rec Department here.

This year the town introduced the "OnePass" where your beach card is the same as the card you use for golf and other programs.  Remember that if you have a beach card and are planning to purchase guest passes for this weekend you have to purchase online passes BEFORE the weekend!
