Memorial Day weekend IN Greenwich will be busy in 2022. We hope everyone has a terrific weekend whether you're local or not.  And most of all, we remember and honor the sacrifices of the men and women who gave their lives for our country.

Here's info on what's happening locally for Memorial Day Weekend:

Saturday, May 28th:

At 10:30 AM at the Cos Cob Dock VFW Memorial on Strickland Road Cos Cob, CT the Cos Cob VFW Post 10112 will have a brief ceremony to honor our veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice and died for our country while serving in the US Armed Services.

Sunday, May 29th:

The Byram Veterans Association will hold their Parade at 2PM on May 29th starting at the Byram Veteran’s Club.

The Glenville Volunteer Fire Department’s Memorial Day Parade starts at 5pm on Glenville Street and ends in front of the Glenville Firehouse for a ceremony and wreath laying.

Monday, May 30th:

On Greenwich Avenue join in the annual Jim Fixx Memorial Day Race, this year it’s a 5K!  Sponsored by Betteridge and coordinated by Greenwich Parks and Rec, this is one of the state’s oldest races, now in its 58th year.  Make sure to pre-register online, more info here.

The annual American Legion Post 29 memorial service will be held at 8am at the Indian Harbor Yacht Club at 710 Steamboat Road in downtown Greenwich. As part of the service, a memorial wreath will be placed in Long Island Sound.

The 2022 Memorial Day Celebration in Old Greenwich is on Sound Beach Avenue to Binney Park, starting at 10:00 am on May 30th.

The Byram Veterans Association will hold a Memorial Day Ceremony on Monday, May 30th at 10am at the Eugene Moriot Park on Sue Mertz Way.

The Chickahominy Reunion Association will hold its ceremony at 1 p.m. at the veteran’s memorial at Hamilton Avenue School.

There is a 5 p.m. Memorial Day Ceremony at the Belle Haven Club.
