From pumpkin patches to costume parades, throughout October 2023 there are lots of ways to celebrate Halloween in Greenwich, CT! We'll continue to add more events as we hear about them.

Drop-In Craft: Decorate a Trick-or-Treat Bag
Wednesday, October 25 from 3:00pm to 5:00pm
Join us in the Program Room on the 3rd floor of the Main Library to decorate a trick-or-treat bag for Halloween. We supply the canvas bag, fabric markers and Fall/Halloween themed stencils.
Innovation Lab for Kids: Laser Engraved Pumpkins
Thursday, October 26 at 4:00pm
Learn all about laser cutting and engraving, and design and engrave your very own pumpkin to take home! All supplies provided. This program is appropriate for children ages 8-12.
Halloween Scavenger Hunt Saturday
Saturday, October 28 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm
Kids of all ages stop by the library for a Halloween fun scavenger hunt! Can you solve the fun riddle? If you can, you may get a prize!

Creepy Crawly Animals by Friends of Greenwich Point
On Wednesday, October 25 from 2:00pm-3:30pm in the Innis Arden Cottage join us for Creepy Crawly Animals! Friends of Greenwich Point is excited to partner with Stamford Museum & Nature Center again to feature unusual animals at Innis Arden Cottage. Lisa Monachelli, Director of Education from SM&NC, will introduce a variety of animals including two different snakes, a tarantula, a cockroach, a rodent, and a lizard. Ms. Monachelli will teach us about how and where each animal lives and answer our questions.

Mike's Organic Costume Parade and Trick-or-Treat
On Sunday, October 29 at 12pm, Mike's Organic, the new farm-fresh market in Greenwich, will host a Costume Parade and Trick-or-Treat experience. Kids who come in costume will get to join a parade and trick-or-treat for better-for-you candy. CT's The Big Picture will be on site with Halloween crafts, including the chance to design your own trick-or-treat bag. Guests can also visit the Pumpkin Patch, enjoy pumpkin goodies + games, and enter the giant pumpkin guess-the-weight contest.

Owl-oween Enchanted Afternoon
Join us for an afternoon of non-scary Halloween nature fun for the whole family at Greenwich Audubon Center! For this special event from 3pm to 5pm, kids and families can enjoy activities such as a nature cookie decorating table sponsored by Maman Greenwich, owl pellet dissecting and an interactive outdoor Halloween Nature Play Trail (weather permitting). You will also learn how you can help our nocturnal animal friends around Halloween by reducing our outdoor lights, having Halloween decorations that are safe for animals and recycling our pumpkins to feed wildlife.
At 4 p.m. Christine's Critters will give a live animal show featuring a host of owls, snakes, tarantula and other spooky but friendly animals!

Owl-oween Enchanted Afternoon
Take in the sights and sounds of an autumn night at the Greenwich Audubon Center under the light of the full moon, 6pm to 7:30pm. We'll listen for hooting owls, crickets, bats, and other wildlife that inhabit our trails during the end of October. We may even be able to view the silhouettes of migrating songbirds as they fly past the full moon!

Trick or Treat with the Junior League of Greenwich
Join the Junior League of Greenwich for a spooky (but safe) Halloween celebration!

Greenwich Historical Society’s Fall Scarecrow Festival
Join our much anticipated annual Fall Scarecrow Festival – for some creative autumn fun! Bring family and friends to compete in our annual scarecrow building competition, dance to music, and enjoy delicious food. All scarecrow materials are provided with purchase, and judges will award prizes to winners at the end of the event.

GHS Orchestra Spooktacular Concert
The Greenwich High School Orchestra Spooktacular Concert is on Wednesday October 18th at 7:30 p.m. in the GHS Performing Arts Center. It is free and open to the public. The GHS orchestra puts on this concert every year, and it is a ton of fun!
An added bonus is that anyone who attends the concert in their Halloween costume will also receive a little candy at the door 😉
